Process Improvements when business is slow

The best time for process improvement projects is when business is slow. When business is slow, the natural instinct for some business owners is to tighten the belt. Slow times should be an opportunity to see what can be done to make your business more efficient. During slow times you afford to take the time to meet with your employees and see if they can give you feedback on what improvements they would like to see. You have the time to make changes to your process and work all the bugs out. It also gives employees time to get trained on any changes and get use to them. When work does pick up again you can use your new improvements to make your products faster and cheaper while maintaining quality.
